This one was inspired by my absolute favorite game, Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild! This is one of the recipes Link can make in the game, and although it's nothing special in-game, after making it for real, it certainly became special. Everyone LOVED this healthy and perfectly sweet dish for dessert when I made it. This recipe was added by request from Grammy, who especially enjoyed them.
Ingredients
- 1-2 newly ripened bananas
- 3 teaspoons water
- 3 teaspoons honey
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
- Spray oil, coconut oil, or butter
Directions
- Heat up a frying pan on the stove on medium heat.
- While the stove heats up, slice the banana into medium-thick slices.
- Combine the water, honey, and cinnamon in a small bowl until thoroughly mixed together.
- Once the stove is heated up, grease the pan with a small amount of oil/butter, then put the banana slices in, making sure each slice is completely flat on the bottom of the pan.
- Leave the slices for a few minutes while the bottoms cook. After 3-4 minutes, sprinkle a teaspoon or two of the honey mixture over the bananas.
- After leaving the liquid to cook into the slices and carmelize, flip the banana and repeat the same process.
- Cook the banana until it's a medium-dark brown and the honey has carmelized on both sides.
- Remove the bananas from the pan and wait 5-10 minutes to cool before serving.
